AssetCo plc, the provider of Integrated Support Services to the Emergency Services in the UK and Ireland is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement for the formation of a 10-year joint venture with the Abu Dhabi Government’s Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA), to develop and manage a 100-acre multi-agency emergency services training centre, Rabdan Disaster City.  Rabdan Disaster City will be an integral part, and one of the projects of “Rabdan Academy”, a program to establish accredited education and training and associated senior qualifications to personnel from multi-agency services in the Emirates, the GCC, and Internationally.

Chief Executive, John Shannon commented, “We are delighted to have been selected as the long term partner to Rabdan Academy and to have a key role in delivering a world class training solution to the various government agencies and private sector organisations who will use the facility. This is the first of a number of projects we have been involved in since October 2007, and endorses our decision to commit a senior team to the Emirates.”

Rabdan Academy forms part of the vision of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. “We are delighted to have selected AssetCo as our partner for “Rabdan Disaster City”. Their technical expertise and commitment to this project is expected to help establish a truly future class facility for our multi-agency education and training ambitions in the Emirates and will be one of the key projects of Rabdan Academy that will be instrumental in achieving the vision of His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, under the Chairmanship and directives of His Highness Staff Brigadier Pilot Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan” concluded Lt. Col. Faisal Albakeri, the Program Director for Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
